Dan and Judy's Kitchen

Oh, that's why the light was out

After the demolition was finished, we were happy to learn that we could keep the refrigerator in the kitchen for a while longer. But after the crew left, Judy wondered why the refrigerator light wouldn't come on. I told her it the light is finicky and not to worry.

Well, the light was out for a reason. Around 3:30 this morning I got up to get a drink of water and felt water on the floor in front of the refrigerator. The crew didn't turn the refrigerator back on at the circuit breaker when they finished. No biggie. The ice in the freezer was just melting. However, by the time I cleaned up the mess and dumped what was left of the ice bin out the back door, I was wide awake.

I knew I was going to lose sleep over this project.

Hi Dan, it's Cyndi (sorry skillet!). Are you getting a new floor? I don't know what ours looks like under all the cabinets and stuff, but I was wondering what influenced your decision to keep or replace your floor.

We are keeping the tiled flooring that we put in a few years ago. We have the same tile throughout the house and we made sure to save the extra tiles. They'll be able to use the extras in the kitchen.

So, what have you been eating lately? Take out? Cereal? Cold sandwiches? LOL When we lived in a house with a teeny, tiny wall oven that wasn't even big enough to cook a frozen pizza, we bought a convection microwave. That thing worked great for microwaving and for baking.

We haven't branched out too far from the Beach yet — Longhorn takeout, Ragtime and Ruby Tuesday's (appetizers at both places). We are trying to get our schedules meshed. I'm almost finding it easier to eat on our own and just meet up at the house rather than coming home from work and having that 45 minute discussion "So, where do you want to eat?" More on this in future posts.
